Via electrolysis we implement a process called thermolysis, which is a current that produces a small amount of heat that cauterises the skin. Depending on the type and size of the skin tag it will either fall off straight away or a small micro crust or scab will form and fall off after a few days.
This will vary depending on the size and number of the skin tags or skin blemishes. The treatment generally can range from 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Ensure the area being treated is clean and free from any other substance, such as, makeup, perfume, skin creams.
Keep the area clean and use the relevant aftercare products which will be recommended by your clinician, usually aloe vera or witch hazel to soothe the area. If a micro crust or scab forms refrain from picking or scratching the areas, this can cause scarring and infection. Just allow to heal and it should naturally fall off in a few days. Avoiding using any products on the area for a few days following the treatment.
There is very little to no downtime. The area that has been treated may feel slightly warm and tender to the touch, this is completely normal, and will subside after a couple of days. Use the aftercare products as directed by your clinician and this will aid the healing process.
You may feel a very mild heat sensation, but this should only last for a few seconds, in general the treatment should be very comfortable.
